The name

NUUR — نور, “light” — is the name of the founder’s father. The maison is Dounia G.’s dedication to a father who dedicated so much to her: every edition carries his name, and his light, into another home. It is why the first collection could only be called First Light.

The conviction

NUUR Rituals is a Dubai maison built on one conviction: a daily ritual deserves the same care as a work of art. Before there is anything to drink, there is a painting.

The atelier

Every NUUR edition begins on canvas in Dubai. The First Light works were painted by Dounia G. in the NUUR atelier — each one painted by hand, signed and finished before it is ever considered for a tin. The studio works slowly and in small numbers: an edition is released only when the artwork is ready, never to fill a calendar.

From canvas to tin

When a painting is chosen, it is translated onto a finite tin edition — brushwork, symbols and gold seams carried onto an object made to be kept long after the last cup. Each edition is printed once, in a stated quantity. When an edition is reserved in full, it is not reprinted.

The ritual

Coffee and tea are the oldest rituals of this region — the first cup offered to a guest, the quiet moment before the day begins. NUUR holds that ritual in four works: two coffees, one Sencha crafted in the Japanese tradition, and one botanical infusion, each sourced with care and sealed inside an original artwork.
